Back and Ready

Hello *adjective* Readers - Later has come!
I'm back after a brief hiatus. I've been OPish of late, hence the lack of posting. I have started posting to DWLZ again however, and am enjoying that. We shall see if it lasts through the busy work week!

I played basketball today, which was a lot of fun. I used to play everyday in high school and college. I played hard for an hour and a half and taking 4 APs for it! Good cross-training for running too...

I need to make this my last OPish day this week. I'm not losing any weight even though I'm exercising more. I need to get militant with this effort, no more half-assed days and weeks! Less than three weeks till the half, and if I'm going to be running it at my current weight (198 per IM tonight - temporary I hope) I will 1) not make it to the end running and 2) never beat my times from the other three that I've run. Putting on GAME FACE!

More Food, More Running

Well I ran and did a step class on Monday, and I plan to at least go running today. My new shoes felt good after about a mile so I'm going to keep that model. I surprisingly went out for lunch today (I usually limit to once/week) and did well in making good choices. I'm in a bit of a detox after having a run in with choc cvrd soy nuts yesterday.

Putting my best paw forward...

Hello,
It's a coffee-filled Friday morning. After getting to bed way too late, I managed to sleep in a bit. The good: I got to work at 8AM The bads: 1) I wanted to get to work at 7, to get some things done before morning meetings and 2) I left home without my laptop! Yes, #2 is much, much worse! My laptop is frequently referred to as my brain. So my choices were to go home (I realized my idiocy when I got to work) or try to work without a brain. Considering it's a 40 min drive back home, I've decided to kick it scarecrow stye. So far things are going well using a walkup desktop. A little tinkering and I was able to access one of my email accounts, and of course I have internet access (woot!).

I'm still pumped about my run yesterday. It was da bomb! The human body is amazing in how fast muscles/cardio can recover from inactivity. Two weeks ago I could not run a 9:30 pace for more than a half mile. I ran 6! Alright enough with that, before people think I'm just bragging. (Six miles baby! Hell yeah!)

I bought new shoes after my run, at the running store that hosts the group run. I found out I'm a slight pronator in that on my old shoes were slightly more worn towards the inside of the tread. These shoes have minor correction for that, and overall should be a lot better. The brand is Brooks Adenaline. The only problem is they are blue and yellow.

Onward!

It's a new day. I am in complete control if it will be a good one or not. I WILL go running with my running group. I WILL go to a social networking function tonight. I WILL meet my point target.

Also, I hope to get a haircut. This is just not a good look!


Well so far so good! Haircut? Check! Run 6 miles? Check! Run 6 miles faster than I thought possible based on how I've been running? Check!!!(9:30 pace! Woot!). I'm OP and going out to get drunk now.

I'll update later!

Oh, and JB, how much is a 1" x 2" sliver of sheet cake?

Update: I'm too damn old to be partying late on a weeknight and going to work the next day! LOL Social function was fun and I met some interesting people. I also learned a lot about the sport of Cricket.

Total points ended up around 21, after using 4 APs for my massively successful run (yes, I'm still beaming).
